Commentary First A lottery can NOT operate if they don't have: 1) someone to sell their products (retailers) and 2) someone to purchase their products (players). If the retailers won't speak up for us, which they WILL if they know how we feel, then we need to take our business to someone who will. The Texas Lottery has "forgotten" that the TLC is nothing more than "just another vendor" to retailers. In years past, retailers were afraid to NOT carry the Lotto for fear of losing customers. This is the ONLY reason retailers tolerate the TLC's demands. So, players, all the retailers need is to hear from you. They are on our side. We must stick together. This is "part one" of my overall plan. Get started now - write your retailers (corporate level) and ask them to put a stop to this foolish talk about making Lotto Texas harder to win which is highway robbery for both the players and the retailers. Would you please share your letters with me as well. This way I know what is going on. Now, read what one retailer has already told the TLC and the Sunset Commission. In the future, I would recommend that retailers share their comments with the Governor, Lt Governor, Speaker of the House and the newspapers. Click here for those addresses. Subject: This one went to Sunset Advisory... Our Texas Lottery Commission has got to go!!! They are fleecing Texans in an unfair way and using deceptive techniques in doing it. Sales are down and the boycott has not even started yet. There is a story going around that he TLC is running the Lotto into the ground to make way for a multi-state game which is also a very bad idea. These people that make these decisions on these games don't spend their own money on losing tickets so they have no concept of how horrible this game is. Sales should be an indicator but apparently no one has noticed that the 6/54 game is horrible and raising the odds is only going to make it worse. The retailers are tired of this and so are the players. We will boycott from selling the tickets and the customers will stop buying the tickets. We all will let everyone know this about the way the TLC operates. Sales are dramatically low because we are fed up with seeing our customers lose their hard earned money for nothing and only the GREEDY TLC win. Please help and make everyone happy, we are all telling the TLC what we want. If not, I can promise that the TLC will wish they had these horrible figures back once the truth is out and no one will ever come back to playing the Texas Lottery. Thank you. A Texas Lottery Retailer
To: Gary Grief <gary.grief@lottery.state.tx.us>, I just wanted to let you two know how upset and disgusted players and retailers are about the way the Texas Lottery Commision is being run. About 50 retailers including myself, a former lotto texas player, have taken it upon ourselves to help the good people of Texas by advising them to save their money and not buy any online tickets, especially Lotto Texas. If there are any negative changes, as I have been forewarned, there will be at least 300+ retailers that will get out of the online scams that fleece our customers we see on a daily basis. If you want the Lotto to be a success get back to what made it successful in the first place and put the GREED and idiot business decisions aside. We need a 6/50 or 6/49 game and sales will dramatically increase all across the board on a weekly basis. If the odds are raised it will only upset more people and further make us (Texas) look like a laughing stock with the way out Lottery is run. It is very naive of you to think that you can decieve your customers that support you without suffering any reprocussions. We have lost tens of millions of dollars due to Ms Clouds ignorance and having no idea about what she was doing. I was very happy when she left and you took over sir. I was sure that you would turn this horrible game around and get back all the lost respect, customers, and revenue that we missed during Ms Clouds tenure. You both have no idea about the strategies that mad customers are throwing around to expose this mis-management of this game. You can see for yourselves that people hate the 6/54 matrix yet you continue to run this game into the ground. One speculation is that you are ruining our game on purpose to pave the way for a multi-state game and then a smaller Lotto Texas....BAD IDEA!!! We all know that something suspicious is up since nobody would run a business into the ground for no reason. If my sales were off for one week I would attempt to make a change and get sales back up, but you take no positive action. And you have your customers telling you exactly what they want, it doesn't get any easier than that. PLEASE take note and bring back the 6/50 game and make everyone happy. Then we can get back the $20+ a draw players instead of the spikes in sales when jackpots are up. This will make Texas a much better place and bring you the respect that you deserve and could achieve so easily....Thank you. A Texas Lottery Retailer Thank you Mr. Retailer ... the players of Texas appreciate the time you
