For Pick3, let's pretend you played 1-3-4 exact/any and you played Fireball. You won the Fireball prizes but you lost your base game bet because they drew 2-3-4. |
For Daily4, let's pretend you played 5-6-8-9 straight/box and you played Fireball. You won the Fireball prize but you lost the base game because they drew 4-6-8-9. |
A Few Fireball Details |
|
About the new add on feature called Fireball for Pick3 and Daily 4 ... The new add on feature, Fireball, is totally optional and it doubles the cost of your play. Example: If you play Pick 3 Exact for 50 cents, to play Fireball, will cost you an additional 50 cents for a total cost of $1. If you bet $1, then to add Fireball to your play, you will pay a total of $2. Here's how it works (for both Pick3 and Daily4) .... Like Sum it Up, you can win "just" the base game of Pick3/Daily4 or "just" the add-on game, Fireball, or you could win "both." Example - Win Fireball Only - (You lose your Pick3/Daily4 base bet): Your selected numbers 3-6-8 did not match the winning numbers drawn, however, by using the Fireball number to replace the first number drawn, you created a new winning combination of 3-6-8 that you did have. So you won your Fireball bet but you lost your Pick3/Daily4 base bet because you had to use the Fireball number to win. Example 1 - Win Both Pick3/Daily4 & Fireball Bets: The winning numbers drawn are 1-2-3 Fireball 1 ... so you win the base game prize of $500 because you played 1-2-3 plus you win the Fireball prize of $180 because the Fireball number was one of your number selected. Your total win - $680. (On an exact bet, using the Fireball number, there are 3 winning combinations - 1-2-3, 1-1-3, 1-2-1 - Remember, you use the Fireball number to replace ONE of the numbers drawn.) Example 2 - Win Both Pick3/Daily4 base game & Fireball Bet: The winning numbers drawn are 4-4-4 Fireball 4 ... so you win the base game prize of $500 plus you win the Fireball prize of $540 making your total win $1040. Beware: For those of you who plays "Combo" - playing Fireball can be very costly. If you spend $6 dollars on your one Pick3 ticket, then the cost for Fireball is also $6 making that one ticket cost $12. The Payouts Are Extremely Complicated I play 623 - 50 cent Exact/ANY - and buy Fireball. The numbers drawn - 523 Fireball 6. How much did I win? $105 I play 623 - $1.00 ANY - and buy Fireball. The numbers drawn - 523 Fireball 6. How much did I win? $30 In each of the above 3 examples, I lost the base game because the number I played was not drawn. I play 623 - $1.00 ANY - and buy Fireball. The numbers drawn - 623 Fireball 6. How much did I win? $110 In this example, I won both the base game and the Fireball game. Double digit and triple digit plays and payouts are unique and low. Let's pretend we played 1-1-1 and we played Fireball - $1 Exact and $1 Fireball. Now let's pretend 1-1-1 Fireball 1 was drawn. As you can see, the "1" fits in all three positions. We won the base game prize of $500 then we won the Fireball game which ONLY pays $540 making our total win $1040. The Fireball prize amounts are shown in the game rule. They are considerably lower than the base game prizes. Pick3 & Daily 4 Rule, Click here ---------------------- |

---------------------- A word to the wise .... Don't pay $5 for one exact number on one single ticket .... I want to take this opportunity to tell ya'll AGAIN what you should NEVER buy when playing Pick3. NEVER pick $5 on your Pick 3 playslip - buy separate $1 tickets. The reason is simple - if you win and spend $5 on one ticket - then you would have to go to a Claim Center to collect and you'll receive a W2-G. But if you buy separate $1 tickets, then you can collect your winnings at the retail level and won't have to pay taxes on your winnings. Because MANY store clerks don't know how to do separate Pick 3 and Daily 4 tickets for players, here are the instructions for using the lottery terminals to produce separate tickets with the same numbers on them: Tell the clerk ... 1) "Select Pick3" IF the clerk can't or won't do it, go somewhere else. Then call the TLC to complain. Tell them that "so & so" couldn't sell you separate tickets due to lack of training on the lottery terminal. I had a problem last week and still need to get my letter to the TLC about lack of training though it was not about separate Pick3 tickets. It is really sad that so many clerks don't care about the lottery and don't care to learn the capabilities of their terminals. Many don't even know how to check their mail! Anyway, this is not my story for today. |
