It Appears The TLC's Word
Is Not Worth A Damn ...

Selling a $100 scratch ticket makes
me angry! The Texas Lottery's most
recent annual report and business plan
has the following statement:

"Encouraging responsible participation
in lottery games is a top agency priority.
"

And the Lottery's Social Responsibility page starts
with "Our mission is to generate revenue for
the state of Texas through the responsible
management and sale of entertaining
lottery products.
"

Really! They think selling a piece of
paper for $100 is responsible???

The median household income in Texas is less
than $1,230 per week and the per capita
income is less than $620 per week.

How does being the first lottery in the
US to sell a $100 scratch-off ticket
encourage responsible participation?

Is selling a $100 ticket necessary to make profits?

I don't think so.

The South Carolina Education Lottery's most
expensive ticket is $10 and its operating profit
for Fiscal Year 2021 was $117 per capita --
the Texas Lottery's operating profit for
Fiscal Year 2021 was a paltry $67 per capita.

By the way, median household income
in South Carolina is $1,055 per week and
the per capita income is $590 per week.
