A Little Lotto Texas History

July 19, 2000 was the first Lotto Texas drawing using 54 numbers.
May 12, 2000was the day they voted to add
4 balls to Lotto Texas.
March 14, 2000was the 2nd time they proposed to add
4 balls to Lotto Texas so they could increase their sales.
August 28, 1999was the first time they proposed to add
4 balls to Lotto Texas so they could increase their sales.
Oct 6, 1999 - Announced they were "Not going to mess with
Lotto Texas." This announcement would have helped sales.
The date is marked in fushia.
November 22, 2002 - I posted the TLC's intent to either add
5 more balls or go to 5/44 & 1/44 for Lotto Texas.
May 7, 2003 was the first Lotto Texas drawing using 88 balls. 5/44 - 1/44
On this date, Sept 24, 2005 Lotto Texas sales were the lowest
they have ever been in the history of the Texas Lottery.
April 23, 2006 - Went back to the 6/54 matrix for Lotto Texas but reduced
all low tier prize amounts and they reduced the prize pool to 50% of sales.

* Lotto Texas jackpot amount shown for June 11, 2005 is NOT a
mistake. The TLC falsely advertised the jackpot amount for
June 8, 2005 so I filed a complaint with the AG. As a result, the
TLC did not increase the next jackpot for June 11, 2005.
Had someone won, they would not have received $8 million.

* 2005 - The TLC held the jackpot at $4 million until there were
sufficient funds from sales (the winners share from sales)
to fund the amount advertised.
